An oversized model of the human colon is on display at Tulsa’s Promenade Mall to raise awareness of colo-rectal cancer and other diseases. The 'Colossal Colon' stands at 4 feet tall and 40 feet long.

Visitors to the exhibit can compare a healthy colon to one in various stages of cancer and other diseases. The model was developed by a colon cancer survivor to educate younger people. Dr. Nick Mamalis with the Tulsa Endoscopy Center says the good news is colon cancer is preventable. "At 50 you should be considered for your first colonoscopy. If you have a family history, whether it's a brother, sister or parent, perhaps at age 40."

The 'Colossal Colon' will be located in the center court area of Promenade Mall through Monday.
