The whirlwind of Wedding Whim came to an end on Wednesday. Alli Rutherford and Jarod Moore tied the knot live on “Six in the Morning.†The News on 6’s Carina Sonn was there for the ceremony.
A relationship that began more than four years ago became a marriage on Valentines Day.
Jarod Moore and Alli Rutherford were chosen as 2007's Wedding Whim couple in January. Through an online vote folks in Green Country picked the couple's gown, tux, cake, ring, flowers and dinner rehearsal meal.
"Makes it interesting,†new groom Jarod Moore said. “I always like things to be interesting and that puts a neat little twist to it."
"It was really fast and really stressful, but it was really neat because a lot of the things already chosen for us were all beautiful,†said Alli. “So it took a lot of that stress away from us."
One thing Alli would change, having her father at the wedding. It's been less then two months since Alli's dad passed away, and the pain is still very fresh. The couple says they've already weathered so much, but their love for each other and their faith in God gets them through.
"We've based our relationship on that, and built on that, and that's why we haven't broken up,†Jarod said. “We've had a successful relationship for four and a half years and we're going to have a successful marriage for as long as we live.â€
And the ceremony is just the beginning for Mr. and Mrs. Jarod Moore.
"It was really special and now the best part is gonna be being married to the most wonderful man in the world, especially for me," Alli said.
Jarod and Alli are spending their honeymoon on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. The newlyweds will only have a couple of months together before Jarod is deployed to Kuwait with the Air Force.
