Bitterly cold temperatures are expected overnight in much of Oklahoma, followed by a cold day across the state.

The National Weather Service said Wednesday night temperatures would range from around 5 degrees in the Panhandle to the lower 20s in the far southeast under cloudy skies with a continuing chance for light snow.

Thursday is to remain cloudy and cold with highs from the upper 20s to the upper 30s.

Skies are to become partly cloudy Friday with slightly warmer daytime temperatures reaching the mid 40s to the mid 50s, although overnight lows are to drop into the teens statewide.
