Tulsa 66ers Name New President

There’s a new man at the helm of the Tulsa 66ers. Tulsa businessman Jono Helmerich has been named the team’s new president. Helmerich is part owner of the team along with several other local business leaders. He will replace Joe Berry, who’s held the job for 22 months. Berry is leaving to take a position with N3 Capital of Fort Worth, Texas.

“This is a special organization, and I am proud to have led it for nearly two years, “Berry said. “In that time, the team has laid a sturdy foundation and became an active community partner. I am sad to leave, but I know Jono is uniquely positioned to take this team to the next level.”

“The fact is that Joe has done a great job with getting this team up and running,” said Helmerich. “What we’re doing now is a natural transition from my role as an active investor and my devotion to the Tulsa community to make this team a success.”

The Tulsa 66ers lost to the Idaho Stampede Tuesday night, 91-84.
