OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A bill to exempt volunteers for charitable organizations and not-for-profit corporations from some lawsuits has cleared a state Senate committee.
The bill by Senator Debbe Leftwich would exempt people who provide transportation to senior citizens to lunch programs or grocery stores from liability lawsuits.
The bill passed out of the state Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday and now goes to the full Senate.
