Black ice proved troublesome Tuesday night. Eight cars were involved in an accident near 61st and Mingo in Tulsa.
The News on 6 had originally reported that the ice was a result of a sprinkler system left on at the Community Bank and Trust. However, city and bank officials say a water main break is the real cause.
Tulsa Police say the chain reaction crash began as a single accident between three cars. Before officers could clean up the scene, five more vehicles slid on black ice and into the wreckage.
One car went airborne and landed on top of another car.
