DURHAM, N.C. (AP) _ Duke is retiring Oklahoma native Shelden Williams' Number 23 jersey.

Williams was twice the national defensive player of the year with the Blue Devils after starring at Midwest City High School.

He led Duke to three conference championships and to the 2004 Final Four and set school records with 422 blocks and 1,262 rebounds.

Williams was the fifth overall pick in last summer's NBA draft and now plays for the Atlanta Hawks.

His number was retired during a ceremony at halftime of Sunday's Duke-Boston College game.
