OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Former Oklahoma quarterback and radio announcer Charles Thompson is set for trial Monday on misdemeanor charges of public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.
The 38-year-old Thompson was arrested at an Oklahoma City motel in November after police received three complaints of loud noise coming from his room.
Officers said Thompson was uncooperative and smelled of alcohol. A police report says he was arrested after he stepped from his hotel room and told police: "Then take me to jail."
Thompson led the Sooners to an 11-and-1 season in 1987. He was arrested in 1989 on charges he sold 17 grams of cocaine to undercover FBI agents for $1,400.
Thompson has worked as a radio color analyst covering high school football games.
