BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) With two internal investigations under way, most police union members in Bartlesville gave Chief Leo R. Willey a "no confidence" vote Friday.
Gary McManus, president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge Number 117, says the vote was due to current events coupled with a general disapproval of Chief Willey and his management of the Bartlesville Police Department.
McManus says the union will provide a list of grievances to City Manager Ed Gordon.
The vote comes after the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation opened an investigation into missing evidence at the Bartlesville Police Department at the request of District Attorney Rick Esser.
The department is also investigating the accidental shooting of a reserve officer during training in November 2006.
