Before coming to work Friday, News on 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot took time to donate blood platelets at the American Red Cross at 11th Street and U.S. Highway 169.

He's an old pro at this thing, and has donated before to help cancer patients and burn victims.

If you're interested in donating, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. The whole procedure takes about two hours; Dick says take a book to help pass the time.
