IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach Jason Garrett has interviewed with his old team -- Dallas -- for the jobs of offensive coordinator and head coach.
Garrett is believed to be the first outside candidate to visit Valley Ranch since coach Bill Parcells retired.
Cowboys spokesman Brett Daniels confirms that Garrett, who earned three Super Bowl rings in Dallas as a backup to Hall of Famer and Oklahoma native Troy Aikman, had an interview.
Also, the Cowboys sought permission to interview San Diego defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. Phillips formerly was head coach at Denver and Buffalo, with interim stints in New Orleans and Atlanta.
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops has said he isn't a candidate for the Dallas job and has no plans to leave OU.
