OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) About a dozen Oklahoma business owners are joining other businessmen in asking Congress to raise the federal minimum wage.
The House of Representatives has passed a measure to raise the minimum from the current $5.15 an hour to $7.25 per hour over two years.
Jeff Brown with Oklahoma City real estate investment firm Homes with a Heartbeat says an increase will put money in the pockets of local people instead of into corporate accounts on the East and West Coasts.
The group is signing a statement to send to Congress in support of raising the minimum wage.
