With all of the traffic accidents, big and small, area body shops are quickly filling up. Some shops are still trying to repair cars that were damaged in the last winter blast, while getting new business from the recent ice storm.

Chris Harris at Hourglass Collision at 26th and Harvard says even if you don't think you have much damage, it's always best to get an expert opinion. "There's a lot of that that should go into, before you drive a car that's been in an accident, you probably should have a body shop take a look, just to make sure they give them the blessing that its safe until you can get it and a get it fixed.”

Harris says if your headlights, taillights or blinkers are damaged, you need to make repairs a priority for legal reasons.

He also says you should expect it to take several days for fender bender type repairs and for heavily damaged cars, it could take weeks or even months. He says most of the repair time depends on when parts arrive.
