OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The price of gasoline in Oklahoma Tuesday was at its lowest level in more than a year-and-a-half, according to AAA Oklahoma.
The average price for self-serve regular is just more than $2.01 1/2 per gallon, the lowest price since Dec. 9, 2005, more than 19 months ago, said AAA spokesman Chuck Mai.
``Unseasonably warm winter temperatures on the East Coast of the U.S. and in much of Europe have depressed demand for energy,'' Mai said.
``As a result, inventories of both gasoline and crude oil have continued to build - and the price of crude has fallen to below $52 per barrel. With no new threats of supply on the horizon, prices should continue to fall for the next few weeks,'' Mai said.
The average is the second-lowest in the nation to Missouri's average of just under $2.01 1/2 per gallon.
The average price in Oklahoma City is just over $1.94 per gallon while the average in Tulsa is just over $2.02 per gallon, according to AAA.
