OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma Department of Transportation Director Gary Ridley says most of the state's roads should be dry by today.
Ridley says about one-thousand people used 400 pieces of equipment to clear the roadways, working around the clock for four straight days.
Ridley says he's pleased with the effort, particularly considering that temperatures haven't risen above freezing yet.
State Transportation Secretary Phil Tomlinson says the state's turnpikes should be in even better shape, considering that the turnpikes have more money and more crews devoted to them per mile.
Some roads in eastern Oklahoma remained closed due to high water and downed power lines, including US Highway 69 in Pittsburg County.
