Oklahoma’s icy weather is now affecting the water supply in Delaware County and Hughes County.
In Delaware count residents served by the Oaks Water Board and those in Rural Water District #10 are being asked to conserve water. Both have lost power, with no electricity the pumps cannot refill the water tower.
Oaks Water Board President Phil White says they’re working to locate a generator to help power their pumps until power is restored.
Mandatory water rationing has been ordered in Hughes County. Electricity it out in Rural Water District #2, so the pumps cannot refill the water tower. RWD2 serves Stewart, Ashland, and Hickory Hills. Officials say they are working on getting an emergency generator, but it may be Monday morning before that can happen.
