OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- New Oklahoma House Speaker Lance Cargill is formally starting his "100 Ideas Initiative" Wednesday and says he wants to find the best ideas to move Oklahoma forward.
The year-long program will involve a series of meetings around the state in a town hall setting.
The first meeting -- or "IdeaRaiser" -- will be January 30th in Oklahoma City followed by one in February in Tulsa.
Cargill says he's looking for ideas that are innovative and will move the state forward.
Former state Representative Thad Balkman will direct the project. Balkman says the program will be privately funded but declined to say who is paying for it.
