TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Kirk Fridrich returns to Union High School to become the next head coach at the perennial powerhouse.
Fridrich was an assistant to former coach Bill Blankenship for nine years before leaving to become the head coach at Stillwater.
He spent four years at Stillwater and then led Owasso to the Class 6A semifinals last year in his only season at the school.
He replaces Kevin Wright, who resigned after going 7-and-4 in his only season at Union. The Redskins lost their first three games, then won seven in a row to claim the district title before losing in the first round of the playoffs to Muskogee.
