A different kind of wrap, you can't eat it and it won't win you a Grammy, but it could help your business.
News on 6 reporter Rick Wells went to Bixby to watch a vehicle get wrapped in advertising.
Travis Haremza of Midwest Wraps is finishing up the wrap job on a pickup. "People definitely remember the trucks." How could they not, when he's finished every square inch of painted truck surface will be covered with a special printed vinyl, completely wrapping it in advertising. Even the headlights and taillights are covered in a special porous vinyl which lets the light through.
Travis keeps setting and resetting smoothing and adjusting until the wrinkles and bubbles are gone. Monday's project is actually a redo on the door of his partner's truck.
The whole process starts on a computer, when it is finalized the design is printed on the adhesive vinyl. "Then we'll put a laminate on it to protect it." He pulls out a 3 ring binder with pictures of previous jobs.
When Travis has it the way he wants, he applies a little heat to finish it. The job will last years if its properly cared for and when it comes off it doesn't damage the paint. And as they say in the business, that's a wrap.
