Tulsa’s Mayor is starting a campaigned aimed at improving the health of Oklahomans.
Mayor Kathy Taylor announced Saturday that Oklahomans are living shorter lives compared to others across the nation. She said that a group is headed to the legislature this year to help lawmakers understand the cost of poor health in Oklahoma.
Taylor kicked off her "Mayor's Fitness Challenge" on Saturday. The campaign sets out to raise Oklahoma's low national ranking on physical fitness.
"We have one of the highest rates of diabetes, the highest rates of heart disease and we have a serious issue with obesity with children so we're here today to take care charge of that problem,†Mayor Taylor said.
