MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) _ Muskogee city officials will decide Tuesday what to do with a historic downtown building heavily damaged by fire last month.

The 116-year-old Severs Block Building at Main and Broadway caught fire on December 15th.

Several city streets have remained closed to through traffic ever since, much to the dismay of businesses in the area.

City officials condemned the building, saying it was unsafe and made plans to demolish it. They gave owner Judy McKie until next week to submit an appeal.

McKie says she plans to fly to Oklahoma to submit plans Tuesday to the city's nuisance board.

The building originally housed the First National Bank of Muskogee in 1890. It's on the National Register of Historic Places.
