NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The third and final phase of a renovation and construction project at the University of Oklahoma football stadium is now under way.
The $10-million third phase at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium includes renovation of locker rooms, expanding the Barry Switzer Center and adding a fence around the football practice field.
The work is to be finished before the start of the 2007 season this fall.
The first two phases added suites, renovated the north end zone and improved restrooms and concession areas.
Those two phases cost a total of $75-million.
The stadium originally was built in 1925 with seating for 16,000. Its current capacity is more than 82,000.
