GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ If this was Adrian Peterson's final game at Oklahoma, he tried to leave Sooners fans with a tremendous goodbye gift.
Silent through most of his first game in nearly three months, Peterson ran 25 yards for a score on the opening play of overtime.
But Peterson could only watch as Boise State's Ian Johnson trumped it with the game-winning 2-point conversion run in the Broncos' 43-to-42 win over the seventh-ranked Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl Monday night.
A sure-fire first-round NFL draft pick, Peterson has yet to announce whether he'll return for his senior season. The bruising, 6-foot-2 tailback would have millions of dollars awaiting him in the NFL.
About the only thing that could keep him in college is a shot at two prizes that have eluded him -- the Heisman Trophy and a national championship.
