A good samaritan saves the day for a stranger.

A Sapulpa woman has renewed faith that most people are good and kind. She wants to thank the good samaritan who chose to do the right thing, even when no one was looking.

News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright has the story.

Deanie is thankful she learned first-hand the Christmas spirit is alive and well in this Sapulpa Wal-Mart parking lot.

Deanie stopped there Thursday morning to pick up a few items before their children came over for breakfast. She was loading her groceries into her car when she got a phone call. She was talking and got distracted and didn't realize she'd left her wallet in the shopping cart.

"Got in the car, went home, had breakfast and we were getting ready to go shopping for my daughter's wedding when I couldn't find my wallet and of course, you know how that feels when you know you left it," Deanie said.

Deanie went back to Wal-Mart, but didn't have much hope to find her wallet, which contained $500 cash, checks to be deposited and credit cards, much more than she would normally carry.

Deanie saw a woman she knows, who was more optimistic.

"She said, it'll be okay, God's gonna take care of it. I said, yeah, Pam, you're right, God will take care of it. She went on to work. The gal came out of the office with my wallet and everything was still in it," said Deanie.

Deanie won't be able to thank her good samaritan in person, but hopes the mystery person knows how much their gesture is appreciated. She hopes the person who returned her wallet will be rewarded many times over for their honesty.
