PONCA CITY, Okla. (AP) A former Ponca City elementary school principal who was suspended this month is now charged with lewd molestation.

Jeffrey Edwards is accused of molesting a child and is now free on $20,000 bond.

School officials say the child is not affiliated with Trout Elementary where Edwards was principal.

Edwards had been suspended without pay before resigning this week.
