NORMAN, Okla. (AP) There once was a time when Oklahoma's Courtney Paris might have been overwhelmed by today's game between the 3rd-ranked Sooners and #8 Ohio State.
But after leading OU to 23 straight regular-season wins, recording 37 consecutive double-doubles and seeing every possible style of defense, Paris isn't so shaken.
The Ohio State-OU is only the second matchup of top-10 women's teams at the Lloyd Noble Center and the Buckeyes are the last team to beat OU during the regular season, a 75-71 win January 9th in Columbus, Ohio.
But the focus will be the matchup two centers, Paris and Ohio State's Jessica Davenport.
Paris is averaging 21.4 points and 14.4 rebounds per game and is 19 points shy of the 1,000-point career mark.
Davenport averages 19.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots per game and has scored in double digits in 60 of her last 61 games.
