The Tulsa County Emergency Shelter received some early Christmas gifts Monday.
Members of Leadership Tulsa spent Monday stocking the shelter with food, blankets and other supplies. It's an effort to bring the comforts of home to the homeless.
Executive director of Leadership Tulsa Wendy Thomas: “statistics show that there are more people that are homeless this winter than in the past. It's so cold outside right now too. We really want to make sure that people who find themselves in shelters have things that help make sure they are comfortable.â€
Supplies will also be donated to former homeless people as they transition into permanent housing.
