TULSA, Okla. (AP) Darold Crow scored a career-high 27 points to help Tulsa beat Southern Arkansas 88-56.
After racing to a 26-8 lead in the first 12 minutes of the game Sunday at Tulsa, Tulsa was outplayed for a long stretch. That allowed the Muleriders to climb within 53-44 early in the 2nd half on a lay-up by Cory Green.
Then the 6’7 Crow took over. He scored on a 3-pointer and a drive to increase the lead to 58-44. He then drove and made an assist to Ray Reese for a lay-up.
After 2 free throws by Brett McDade, Crow hit three consecutive mid-range jumpers, then another 3-pointer that made it 71-52 Tulsa with 7:30 to play.
McDade and Sam Mitchell added 11 points each for the Golden Hurricane.
Green led the Muleriders with 14 points. SAU drops to 3-5, while Tulsa has been beaten just once in eight games.
