MANGUM, Okla. (AP) -- A convicted killer who escaped from a state prison and disappeared with the wife of the prison's deputy warden pleaded no contest Thursday to an escape charge.

Randolph Dial entered the plea and read a statement in Greer County District Court in Mangum. Dial also said he has a tumor the size of an orange on his lung and has less than a year to live.

A pre-sentencing report will be compiled before Dial is sentenced February 1st.

Dial disappeared in 1994 from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite with Bobbi Parker whose husband was the prison's deputy warden. The two were found in April 2005 in Texas.

Dial has said he kidnapped Parker and forced her to stay with him all those years but no charges have been filed in that case and Parker hasn't been charged.
