POTEAU, Okla. (AP) -- One day after longtime Carl Albert State College President Joe E. White announces his retirement, school regents name Brandon Webb as the college's president-elect.
The 36-year-old Webb will be the second member of his family to be an Oklahoma college president.
His father, Roger Webb, is the president at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond and previously was president of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.
Brandon Webb will work with White this spring and become Carl Albert's president in June.
The 69-year-old White is the current dean of Oklahoma college presidents, having served as Carl Albert's president since 1975.
Brandon Webb will earn $99,500 annually in his new job and be able to use a home and car owned by the college.
Webb currently is associate general counsel for the Oklahoma Education Association.
