NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A Norman man has been identified as the second person to die when a single-engine experimental plane crashed in a vacant lot.

Norman Regional Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Wood confirms that 50-year-old Paul Dwight Black died about 9:40 Sunday morning.

Black and Robert -C- Noble Junior of Choctaw crashed in the amateur-built kit plane about a mile southwest of Max Westheimer Field. Their RV7 model went down in some grass between a car dealership and a restaurant.

The plane, which took off from Twin Lakes Airport in Midwest City, was the last of three RV7 airplanes that were flying to the small airport. The first two planes landed safely.

Witnesses say the plane narrowly missed hitting a busy Interstate 35 and other businesses in the area.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig says it may be weeks or months until a report on the crash is released.
