MIAMI, Okla. (AP) A fatal motor vehicle crash has traffic backed up for miles on the Will Rogers Turnpike in northeastern Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Kera Philippi had no immediate information on the accident, but said cars are backed up for about nine miles in the area.
The Will Rogers Turnpike is the stretch of Interstate 44 between Tulsa and the Missouri state line. The area received more snow that the rest of state, ranging from seven to 15 inches of precipitation in recent days.
Philippi says the OHP is telling the public to take alternate routes. She says traffic will be diverted off the highway until 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
