A man is recovering after being shot in the back with a .22. The victim was shot by a woman in a home near Independence and Quebec just before 7 oâ€™clock Saturday morning.

The shooter told officers the man was trying to break into her home. She has had a protective order against the man in the past, said police.

The victims injuries are not life threatening.

Police are investigating.
