The Jenks Trojans have another State Championship in their sights. Jenks (12-1) will play Enid (9-4) for the gold ball on Friday.

The Trojans have cruised through the playoffs defeating Broken Arrow, 28-7, in round one.

In the quarterfinals Jenks faced Lawton. The Trojans had trouble keeping their hands on the ball, committing three 1st half turnovers, but Jenks got it together in the 3rd and won by 17, 29-12.

Semi final action had Jenks against Muskogee, in the first quarter the Trojans jumped to an early 14-0 lead. Muskogee got some momentum at the end of the quarter scoring a 35-yard TD followed by a 91-yard touchdown which tied the game. With time running out in the first half, Jenks was called for a false start on a field goal attempt. After the penalty Jenks ran the ball and scored a 33 yard TD, the score at the half, 28-14. The Roughers tied the score at 28-apiece in the 3rd, but the 4th quarter belonged to Jenks, who outscored Muskogee 24-7.

The only thing standing in Jenks way of an eighth championship in 11 years is Enid.

The Plainsmen have rolled through the playoffs beating teams with better records.

In a round one upset the Plainsmen defeated District 6A-4 champs Booker T. Washington, 34-12.

Enid faced the Mustang Broncos in the quarterfinals. The Broncos QB couldn't find his receivers; the Plainsmen defense intercepted 6 passes. Enid steam-rolled Mustang 55-7.

In the semi's Enid went up against 6th-ranked Owasso, and the Rams had a case of fumble fingers. Enid forced 5 turnovers turning 2 into touchdowns. The Plainsmen squashed the Rams dreams of a championship, 35-14.

Enid could be called the Cinderella Story of the playoffs, they've won six straight after starting their season 3-4. The Plainsmen will play for their first state championship since 1983 when they face the Jenks Trojans, kick off is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Skelly Stadium.
