Oklahoma Drivers Spinning Their Wheels
There were plenty of people stuck in mostly minor accidents Friday, and that caused traffic to back up. News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan met one family that had a really tough morning.
They picked today to move from Kentucky to Oklahoma, and on the way they ran off the Will Rogers Turnpike, the family got back on the road, and were rear ended on the Turner Turnpike by a semi.
"I was going from the fast lane to the slow lane and I hit some slush and started to slide and the truck behind couldn't stop in time and hit my back end," said new Oklahoma resident Rhonda Starling.
One man we met from Michigan said he should have known better, but he tried to cross over a ridge of snow on the turnpike and ended up in the ditch.
The Turnpike authority did have plows out working, but it took them and lots of sunshine to get traffic moving again, and by this Friday afternoon, it was moving at almost full speed.
