Former Tulsa Police officer Rico Yarbrough, was found guilty in September by a federal jury of tipping off gang members before Tulsa Police could bust them.

Yarbrough was sentenced to three and a half years in prison Wednesday. A federal judge sentenced Yarbrough to 44 months, for what he called abandoning his trust as a police officer and becoming a criminal himself.

The judge knocked off two months because of Yarbrough's previous involvement in the community and youth programs.

Yarbrough was convicted of conspiracy, interfering with a search warrant and obstruction of justice.
