STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ An Independence Bowl official says all plans and invitations are on hold for now.
The bowl has shown much interest in Oklahoma State but executive director Missy Setters says a final decision depends on the outcome of this weekend's games and whether the Gator Bowl takes a Big 12 or Big East team.
Bowl officials are said to be interested in matching OSU against Alabama of the SEC.
The Crimson Tide would be playing under interim head coach Joe Kines. Alabama fired head coach Mike Shula on Monday.
