DALLAS (AP) _ Five Oklahoma Sooners and two Oklahoma State Cowboys are All-Big 12 first team selections.

The all-conference team is voted on by the league's 12 coaches who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Sooners on the first team are running back Adrian Peterson, offensive lineman Chris Messner, defensive linemen CJ Ah You and Larry Birdine and linebacker Rufus Alexander.

The Cowboys are receiver Adarius Bowman and offensive lineman Corey Hilliard.

Alexander is the conference defensive player of the year while Bowman is the offensive newcomer of the year and OSU safety Andre Sexton is the defensive freshman of the year.
