OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Miss America Jennifer Berry of Jenks has undergone surgery in North Carolina for an undisclosed condition.

Miss America Organization spokeswoman Sharon Pearce says Berry was visiting family and friends when she was admitted to a hospital in Raleigh on Saturday.

Pearce declined to reveal the nature of the surgery but says Berry spent the night in the hospital and was released Sunday and is in good spirits.

Pearce says Berry had to cancel some appearances but hopes to return to work soon.

Berry was crowned Miss America 2006 in January in Las Vegas.
