OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Minnesota used a 15-to-2 run late and New Orleans ran out of time in an 86-to-79 loss to the Timberwolves.
Ricky Davis led Minnesota with 23 points and Kevin Garnett added 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves Friday night.
The Hornets scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to erase a 66-to-60 deficit, but the Timberwolves responded with their rally to take control for good.
Marko Jaric scored six points and Troy Hudson had five during Minnesota's spurt, while the Hornets missed five shots and turned it over twice before Jannero Pargo finally hit a jumper.
The Hornets shot a season-low 33.8 percent from the field.
Chris Paul led New Orleans with 18 points and Pargo and Bobby Jackson each had 13 for the Hornets.
The loss drops the Hornets to 8-and-4 on the season.
