The News on 6 has new information about the rent payments from Bell's Amusement Park and how much money the other tenants at the Tulsa County fairgrounds pay.
Each pays according to how much business they do.
Bell's has an uncertain future, without a lease at the Tulsa County fairgrounds and without a chance of negotiating a new one.
The payments from Bells have declined over the years, in part because the park negotiated lower payments with the fairgrounds. But it still pays the highest rent of the big three tenants, $130,265 this year.
In 2005, the payment was $127,401 and in 2004, it was $257,544.
Big Splash Water Park pays an annual minimum of $125,000. It paid $128,336 this year. Last year, the payment was $125,000 and in 2004, it was $168,664. Big Splash has a lease through 2013.
The Tulsa Drillers pay rent, plus a percentage of concessions, but overall, that's less than Big Splash or Bell's. The Drillers paid $69,063 in rent this year. In 2005, the payment was $73,539 and in 2004, it was $59,021. The Driller's lease ends in 2014.
Bell's has asked Tulsa County for more time to move out and several cities want it. A Tulsa County commissioner has suggested the land where Bell's is now, will be used for parking.
