4A Semi-Final High School Playoffs

Its No. 1 versus No. 2 in the 4A semi-finals, and someone's perfect record is going to be tarnished. McGuinness (12-0) will play Wagoner (12-0), on Friday.

In round one Wagoner had problems holding onto the ball against Hilldale, but even 4 fumbles couldn't keep the No. 1 team down. The Bulldogs defeated Hilldale 21-7.

Quarterfinal play, the Bulldogs punished Elk City. A combo of running game, timely passes and no turnovers lead Wagoner to a 42-7 rout of the Big Elks.


Round one was a shutout for Oklahoma City Bishop McGuinness; the Fighting Irish blanked Deer Creek, 46-0.

Round two, McGuinness won by 21 against Broken Bow, 34-13.

The win set's up a No. 1, No. 2 match-up in the semi-finals. The Bulldogs and the Fighting Irish will meet in Sapulpa on Friday, kick off is at 7:30 pm.

In other 4A action Poteau (9-3) will meet Grove (9-3) Saturday at NSU.

It's been a thrilling post-season for Poteau. The Pirates have taken both their playoffs games into overtime.

Round one, Poteau squeaked by Oologah 50-49 in triple overtime.

In the quarterfinals 5th ranked Poteau was trailing for most of the game against Oologah. But the Pirates came back, tying the score and sending the game to OT. Poteau defeated Oologah by a touchdown, 35-28.

The Grove Ridgerunners have had an easier ride to the semi-finals. In round one Grove doubled up on Idabel, 14-7.

The Ridgerunners faced the Glenpool Warriors in quarterfinal play. 6th ranked Grove trailed the entire game, until the 4th quarter. The Ridgerunners scored 21 points in the final quarter to defeat Glenpool 35-29.

Poteau plays Grove at 7:30 Saturday night at NSU in Tahlequah.
