The holidays are one of the deadliest times to be on the road.

Last year, between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day more than 1,100 people died in drunk driving related crashes.

MADD is asking everyone to tie a red ribbon on their vehicle, as a promise they'll drive responsibly and to remind others to do the same.

Liz Gifford with MADD: "It's just a simple reminder, to remind people to be safe, to drive sober and to wear their seatbelts."

This is the 20th year for the ‘Tie One On For Safety’ campaign.
