OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City police say former Oklahoma quarterback and local radio announcer Charles Thompson was arrested over the weekend for disturbing the peace and public drunkenness.

The 38-year-old was arrested early Saturday morning at a Residence Inn on west Reno after police responded to several noise complaints.

When police arrived at the hotel, they say Thompson smelled of alcohol and was uncooperative. He was arrested after he stepped outside of the room and told police to take him to jail.

During his arrest, Thompson reportedly asked officers, quote "Do you know who I am?"

Thompson served time in prison in the late 1980s after he was arrested during a cocaine bust in Norman. He appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.

Jail officials say Thompson was booked into the jail about 3 am Saturday and bonded out at about 10 o’clock.

Thompson is a radio color man for high school football games on local sports radio station WWLS.
