LUBBOCK, Tex. (AP) Bob Knight says he didn't do anything wrong. His athletic director, the player and his mother agree.

The Texas Tech basketball coach appeared to slap Michael Prince while talking to him on the sidelines during last night's win over Gardner-Webb.

Knight says he just forcefully lifted the player's chin to get him to look him in the eye while trying to make a point.

Prince told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal after the game that the incident "was nothing" and his mother, Suzette, told the paper she didn't think the incident should be an issue.

Athletic director Gerald Myers issued a statement today saying Knight didn't slap the player and did nothing wrong. Myers defended the coach's explanation of the incident.
