The Tulsa County Medical Examiner is working to determine the sex, race and age of human bones found at a highway construction site Monday afternoon.
Workers building an extension to the Gilcrease Expressway in northeast Tulsa found a skull, arm bone and collar bone.
Tulsa Police used rakes and shovels to look for additional bones and may bring cadaver dogs to the scene. Officers will pull missing persons reports as a first step toward making identification. Tulsa Police detective Gene Watkins: "A lot of times, people come in and say they witnessed or heard of a body being disposed of. We'll pull those reports and get out the mapping and see how those all connect."
Tulsa Police say dental records and DNA could be used to identify the person, once they have more information about the bones.
