STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Sean Sutton officially begins his career as a college basketball head coach when Oklahoma State takes on Florida Atlantic Friday night in Stillwater.

Sutton spent 14 years as his father's assistant before becoming head coach when Eddie Sutton retired earlier this year.

Sean Sutton says one of the first things he wants is to re-establish the Cowboys' dominance at home.

OSU was 107-2 in nonconference home games under Eddie Sutton. One of the two losses was in 1998 to Florida Atlantic when they upset an 11th ranked OSU team.

The Cowboys were 11-5 last season at home with 4 of the losses coming in Big 12 play.

Sutton says there is no excuse for OSU to lose in the environment of Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The only other non-conference team to beat the Eddie Sutton coached Cowboys at Gallagher-Iba was Northwestern Louisiana which won there last year.

OSU's next game is at home against Northwestern Louisiana.

Sean Sutton says he's noticed that.
