If the traditional beginning of the Christmas shopping season is the day after Thanksgiving, businesses are running out of time to get ready.
News on 6 reporter Rick Wells says the Tulsa Promenade Mall has added something new this holiday shopping season, snow.
They are getting ready for Santa Claus at Promenade Mall. Most of the decorations are up, and these guys are trying to get the tree lights to work.
We heard they had something new this year, I think that's it there, a snow making machine, "It's actually gonna snow inside Tulsa Promenade this year," said Kelly Wilkerson.
That's what I thought she said. First kid in your neighborhood to have a snow making machine? Exactly, who doesn't want to see it snow all the time especially inside?
Before we get snow they have to mix the magic potion. Lance Quigley has the formula, it's 8 ounces of a special chemical in a gallon of distilled water, “I'm not sure how long a gallon's gonna last because they're not sure how much they're gonna use it.†"It does have 10 settings for snow size, and it can do a throw up to fifty feet," said Wilkerson.
Sounds like a lot of snow so lets see, got to get dressed for it though, they tell me the chemical in the snow won't stain clothes or wet hair, so it sounds pretty safe
The snow making machine will make it public debut Sunday night at the mall's Magical Night of Giving, which begins at 6:30 PM. You can find more details at www.tulsapromenade.com under events.
Santa Arrives on November 18th, escorted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
