Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies say a triple murder-suicide is one of the most senseless crimes they've seen in a long time.

The shooting happened in the 3800 block of East 126th Street North. Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in north Tulsa County Thursday afternoon because neighbors were having a dispute over a property line. About an hour later, deputies were called out again, this time for a shooting.

They say Howard Hawthorne got a shotgun and drove to his neighbor’s house where three men were removing a fencepost with a tractor.

Hawthorne shot and killed 45 year old Anthony Graham, Graham's step-son, 24 year old Joshua LeFort and their friend Duane Goodwin. One victim was found by the tractor, another by the road and the third, behind a house.

Tulsa County Undersheriff Brian Edwards: “obviously this was an extremely violent event, there was a lot of emotion involved in this because some of the information that the witnesses have given us is quite disturbing."

Sheriff’s deputies say Hawhorne shot and killed himself right after the first deputies got on the scene. They say the dispute involved seven feet of land.
