STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State basketball coach Eddie Sutton is out of the hospital after being found unresponsive in his car outside a convenience store.

Stillwater Medical Center confirms the 70-year-old Sutton was brought to the emergency room via ambulance and ``is alert and responsive.''

The facility's director of public relations issued a statement saying ``a possible reaction to new medication prescribed by his physician may be the cause of this incident.'' The statement said a doctor determined Sutton was not under the influence of alcohol.

After Sutton was released, he attended Oklahoma State's first exhibition game, an 84-to-67 win over Pittsburg State. He was smiling and appeared relaxed.

Sutton ranks fifth in career wins among Division One men's coaches. He retired in May after compiling 798 wins in 36 years as a college coach at Creighton, Arkansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State, his alma mater. His retirement came about three months after a drunken-driving accident caused him to miss the Cowboys' final ten games last season.
